Thank you for your interest in making a gift to the Field Leadership and Management Experience (FLAME) program. Your contributions will go toward funds to provide CGU students with paid internship opportunities.

The FLAME program has twin goals of increasing paid internship opportunities for women and students of color and partnering with local non-profits and government agencies to provide CGU students with a valuable internship experience.

Addressing the Issue

According to an article in the November 2020 issue of the National Association of Colleges and Employers Journal, women account for 81% of unpaid internships while only 26% of paid internships are occupied by students of color.

To address this issue, CGU’s Career Development Office created the FLAME program and seeks to raise initial funding of $20,000 which will provide paid internship opportunities for up to six students. The long-term goal is to create a sustainable funding source for continued internship support. The program is also designed to make an impact in the community as the Career Development Office is partnering with local non-profits and government agencies to provide these internships.

We know that having an internship, while at CGU, is a strong predictor of career success and we want to do all we can to help our students succeed. Thank you for your help in achieving our goal of assisting both CGU students and the community.
