How to Register

For details on registering for CGU classes see the Registrar’s instruction page.

Courses are listed under Cntr for Acad & Faculty Excell (CAFE) or Transdisciplinary Course (TNDY) in the course schedule.

Frequently asked questions about the certificates and courses.

If you have questions that are not answered here, email us at CAFE@cgu.edu.

How do current students register for a course?

You should register for our courses the same way you register for other courses. The Registrar’s website has instructions for how to register through your PeopleSoft account.

How do alumni register for the courses?

See the Registrar’s alumni enrollment page and contact the Registrar’s office at Student.Records@cgu.edu with enrollment questions.

Can I take both courses required for a certificate in one semester?

No. The certificate courses build on each other so you need to take the courses in different semesters or modules. You will need information and skills from the first class before you will be able to complete the second one.

Can I audit one or both of the classes to get the certificate?

No. The certificate courses must be taken for credit to earn the certificates.

What grade do I need to earn on the classes to get the certificate?

You must earn at least a 3.0 (B) on each course to earn the certificates.

How long are the certificate courses?

Our courses usually run the entire semester in spring and fall. In the summer we sometimes offer module 1, module 2, intensive, or full semester courses.

When will the class schedule be posted?

The official class schedule is put out by the Registrar’s office toward the end of each semester. Courses are listed under Cntr for Acad & Faculty Excell (CAFE) or Transdisciplinary Course (TNDY) in the course schedule.

What forms do I need to complete for a certificate?

Two forms will be needed over the course of a CAFE certificate. During the first course you take you will need to fill out a “Degree Change Form” to notify the Registrar’s Office that you want the certificate added to your list of degrees. During the second course you will need to complete an “Intent to Receive a Degree” form to notify the Registrar’s Office you plan to complete your degree that semester. The forms can be found on the Registrar’s website. Both of these forms must be filled out by the deadlines set by the Registrar’s office each semester or your certificate conferral will be delayed. Students are responsible for ensuring all forms are submitted on time.
