Once you have completed the application, please email your application to Treasurer.GSC@cgu.edu.

  • Subject line: “GSC Travel or Material Award Application_Category 1/2/3/ Material_First Name Last Name“.
  • Attach your completed application to the email.

If you are applying for all 3 travel awards categories, as well as the material award, please attach all four applications onto one email. Label each application file accordingly

  • For travel awards, label the file according to its category:
    • Category 1, 2, or 3.
    • For the material award application, label the file “Material.”

Mission

The Graduate Student Council (GSC), allocates money annually for Graduate Student Travel Awards to support students’ academic and professional development. The Graduate Student Council acknowledged that students are increasingly incurring more costs for their research, projects and presentations.

The Travel Awards Program aims to support and encourage academic excellence beyond CGU’s campus and to offer students opportunities to gain professional experience in their field by subsidizing travel costs for as many students as possible. The Material Awards Program aims to support and encourage academic excellence by providing students with reimbursement for material costs related to their academic endeavors.

Student Reviewers Needed

Each essay is read independently by three CGU students. Reviewers will not have access to or review essays from their department, and if applying for a travel and/or material award, essays in their same award category. To volunteer as a reviewer or to receive more information, email to gsc@cgu.edu by a later date TBA.
