Your Student Senate is searching for student leaders! Nominations for are now open. Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged.
The Student Senate serves the student body by providing students with a direct liaison to CGU Administration. Whether you are a new or continuing student, it is always a good time to get involved with the Senate. If you are interested in gaining leadership experience, we strongly encourage you to run for a position!
Below is the timeline for the Senate Executive Board Elections and the Senator Elections.
Executive Board Officer, Senators, and Delegate Election Process Schedule:
- February 24, 2025: Nominations for positions opens
- March 10, 2024: Nominations close
- March 25, 2024 | 12:00pm-1:00pm | Zoom: Meet the Candidate during Senate General Meeting
- March 31, 2024: Online voting opens
- April 11, 2024: Online voting ends
- April 18, 2024: Election results announced
- April 22, 2024 | 5:00pm-7:00pm | On-campus: Pass the Torch Celebration
Details and abridged requirements to run for Senate office:
- All CGU students in good academic and disciplinary standing are eligible to run for office. Each candidate is required to submit a headshot and a 250-word statement. Candidates can withdraw from the race at any time. Candidates who fail to submit nominations and/or appropriate documentation in accordance with announced deadlines will not be placed on the ballot.
- Candidates considering any Executive Board position (president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary) must attend at least three Senate-related events for the current academic year they are enrolled in, or currently serve on the Senate as an Executive Board member or a student representative.
- If a prospective candidate for any Executive Board positions does not meet either requirement above, they must obtain two (2) signatures from current Senate Executive Board members and five (five) signatures from current CGU students to confirm their candidacy to run for any Executive Board positions. Please complete this form and upload it along with your nomination application. In your email please indicate why you want to be a GSC Executive Board member and allow at least 24 hours for each member to review your request.
- An individual may be a candidate running for more than one office; however, [they] may accept to serve in only one of the Executive Board roles offered to them.

Nominations and forms must be received by March 10 at 11:59 pm PT in order to be placed on the ballot. No late submissions will be allowed. Nominations and can be submitted here.
