Guidance for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the application of AI to CGU

CGU’s AI strategy is principled and adaptive—balancing innovation with ethical responsibility, and navigating challenges like cost and computing demands through data-informed, impact-driven decisions that benefit our academic community and society at large.

Claremont Graduate University has acquired a ChatGPT EDU license, providing our academic community with access to a powerful AI tool designed to support research, teaching, and productivity. This paid educational license offers enhanced security and privacy protections, ensuring that interactions with AI remain confidential and compliant with CGU policies and standards.

The academic community is welcome to use the free versions of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot, as long as they are used in compliance with CGU data privacy policies.
