Hanan (pronouns: she/her) is a Jordanian 2nd-year PhD student in the Department of Politics and Economics with a key interest in conflicts and refugee crisis in the world, and in the Middle East in particular. Hanan is passionate to leave an impact and a figure print in the domain for her region and homeland, which is seen through her work with several several human rights INGOs back-home in Jordan, with a special focus to issues of Gender based violence (GBV) and Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights.
Hanan herself is one of the third generation in her family who were displaced from their homeland Palestine to Jordan. Despite all difficulties, she succeed in achieving different goals, especially coming to Claremont Graduate University in 2022 as an international student.
Hanan is excited to start her self-development as a Graduate Assistant in the SLDL Office. She believes that belonging and finding a place to inspire others is as important as helping and supporting them to find their own path in their journey as students at CGU.
