Aatreyee Karmakar is a PhD student in English at Claremont Graduate University, with a research focus in Journalism and Print culture. Her academic journey has also led her to explore contemporary Scottish literature and the intersections of colonial legacies in global contexts.
In her role as Graduate Assistant in the Student Life, Diversity & Leadership office, Aatreyee supports the office’s initiatives aimed at fostering an inclusive, diverse, and supportive environment for students. She is committed to enhancing the student experience and engaging with the community to promote leadership and social justice.
Aatreyee is passionate about creating spaces where students can thrive academically, personally, and professionally, and she brings a thoughtful and collaborative approach to her work. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys exploring film, theater and opera while also seeking opportunities to engage with and learn from others
