Liz (pronouns: she/they), is a first-year doctoral scholar in the PhD in Education (Higher Education and Student Affairs) program. She seeks to apply her robust past experiences within higher education Cultural Center initiatives to her work at SLDL to encourage cross-cultural enrichment among graduate students across all fields of studies.

She is the former Assistant Director for UCLA LGBTQ Campus Resource Center, where she was awarded the National Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Professionals’ Promising Professional Award. She is a Point Foundation BIPOC scholar and CA Legislative LGBTQ+ Caucus Chair’s Pride scholar.

Liz was born and raised in South Central, Los Angeles (originally Gabrielino and Tongva land) and is a first-generation, queer, scholar-practitioner and proud daughter of Mexican Immigrants. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her loved ones, watch horror movies and meditate.
