Join Our Team!

The CGU Advocates for Survivors of Sexual Violence (CGU Advocates) is currently recruiting new members. We provide support and services for graduate students who have been harmed by sexual violence. We seek to promote a compassionate and safe environment for survivors—one in which they can get access to the resources they need.

You do not need to be a survivor to be an advocate, and you do not need to have prior knowledge or experience to be an advocate. We will provide you with all of the resources, support, and training to be an effective advocate. We seek candidates who are highly motivated, professional, compassionate, ethical, caring, and committed. These values are important because you will be representing CGU and this organization both on and off campus. If you are up to the challenge and have the desire to help us meet our goals, apply today!

Qualifications

The candidate must be a current CGU student in good academic and disciplinary standing, be willing to complete a comprehensive background check if selected to be an advocate, and have the ability to respect the privacy of the survivors. CGU Advocates must also be willing to provide support to survivors through emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings.

Commitments

Advocates will periodically attend meetings and training throughout the year, assist with planning educational community outreach events, and provide support for survivors.
