Please be aware that most of the funding opportunities are highly competitive, and that application deadlines vary throughout the year.  Most of the listings include hyperlinks for more information. GENERAL and MULTIDISCIPLINARY

American Association of University Women (AAUW), International Fellowships (November Deadline)
International fellowships, in the amount of $18,000 for Masters students and $20,000 for doctoral students, are awarded for full-time study in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are supported. Originally designed to provide Latin American women opportunities for graduate and postgraduate study in the U.S., the International Fellowships program awarded its first fellowship in 1917. American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship (Varying Deadlines)
ACLS invites applications for Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowships, which support a year of research and writing. The program encourages timely completion of the PhD. ACLS will award 65 fellowships in the competition for a one-year term. These fellowships must not be held concurrently with any other fellowship or grant. The total award of up to $38,000 includes a stipend plus additional funds for university fees and research support. Applicants must be PhD candidates in a humanities or social science department in the United States, have completed all requirements for the PhD except the dissertation by the application deadline and be no more than 6 years into the degree program. https://www.acls.org/programs/dcf/

Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund (April Deadline)
The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund aids people active in movements for social and economic justice. Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship (November Deadline)
The Ford Foundation will award several dozen postdoctoral fellowships. The postdoctoral fellowships provide one year of support for individuals engaged in postdoctoral study after the attainment of either a PhD or ScD degree. Postdoctoral fellowships will be awarded in a national competition administered by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on the behalf of the Ford Foundation. Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship (November Deadline)
The Ford Foundation will award approximately 70 predoctoral fellowships. These fellowships provide three years of support for individuals engaged in graduate studying leading to a PhD or ScD degree. Postdoctoral fellowships will be awarded in a national competition administered by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on the behalf of the Ford Foundation. Foundation for Community Association Research, Byron Hanke Fellowship (May Deadline)

Guggenheim Foundation, Dissertation Fellowships for Research on Understanding Violence, Aggression, and Dominance (February Deadline)
Ten or more dissertation fellowships are awarded each year to graduate students who would complete the writing of a dissertation within the award year. These fellowships of $20,000 each are designed to contribute to the support of the doctoral candidate to enable them to complete the thesis in a timely manner and are only appropriate for students approaching the final year of their PhD. Questions that interest the foundation concern violence and aggression in relation to social change, intergroup conflict, war, terrorism, crime and family relationships, among other subjects. Dissertations with no relevance to understanding human violence and aggression will not be supported. Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), General College Scholarships (April Deadline)
The HSF Scholarship is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain degrees in Higher Education. Awards are based on merit; amounts range from $500 to $5,000, based on relative need, among the scholars selected. Institute for Humane Studies, Humane Studies Fellowship (April Deadline)
The Humane Studies Fellowship is a renewable, non-residency award of up to $15,000 per year to support current or future students in PhD programs. Joseph de Karman Fellowship Trust (January Deadline)
De Karman fellowships are open to PhD students in any discipline, including international students, who are currently enrolled in a university located within the United States. Special Consideration will be given to applicants in the Humanities. La Unidad Latina Foundation (LULF) (October Deadline)

National Hispanic Business Women Association (NHBWA) (March Deadline)
Since its inception, the NHBWA has awarded hundreds of educational scholarships to deserving students. The Council of Mexican Federations in North America (COFEM), Mexican American Dream Scholarship (September Deadline)
Since 2008, COFEM and its affiliated federations, as well as sponsoring partners, have come together to provide scholarships to outstanding students. The National Foundation of Alpha Psi Lambda (November Deadline)
The National Foundation of Alpha Psi Lambda invites students who are attending an institution of higher learning and who show a commitment to education, citizenship, and community to apply for the organizations scholarship. The Orange County Hispanic Educational Endowment Fund (HEEF) (December Deadline)

The Point Foundation (January Deadline)
List of scholarships. The Foundation provides financial support, mentoring and hope to meritorious graduate and post-graduate students who are marginalized because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Salvadoran American Leadership and Educational Fund (SALEF), Fulfilling Our Dreams Scholarship (June Deadline)
This fund offers financial assistance and support to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Scholarships are open to all qualifying students regardless of immigration status. Eligible applicants must be of Central American or of other Latino ethnicity, demonstrate proven financial need, possess a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate a history of community involvement and live in the Los Angeles area. https://www.salef.org/scholarship

Social Science Research Council, International Dissertation Research Fellowship (November Deadline)
The Mellon International Dissertation Research Fellowships offers 9 to 12 months of support to graduate students in the humanities and humanistic social sciences who are enrolled in PhD programs in the United States and conducting dissertation research on non-U.S. topics. 70 fellowships are awarded annually. Sociologists for Women in Society, Esther Ngan-ling Chow and Mareyjoyce Green Scholarship (April Deadline)
Sociologists for Women in Society established a Women of Color Scholarship at its annual meeting in February 2007. The primary purposes of the scholarship are to offer support to female scholars who are from underrepresented groups and are studying concerns that women of color fact domestically and/or internationally and to increase the participation of students of color in SWS. BEEM Foundations Scholarships (April Deadline)
Awards range from $2,000 to $5,000. BMI Student Composer Award ()
The BMI Student Composer Awards is an annual competition open to young composers engaged in the study of classical music. Co-sponsored by BMI and the BMI Foundation, awards totaling $20,000 are determined annually for vocal, instrumental, and/or electronic compositions submitted by students of classical music. National Association of Pastoral Musicians (April Deadline)
Academic scholarships assist with the cost of educational formation for pastoral musicians in formal academic settings. Ayn Rand Institute/The Center for the Advancement of Objectivism, Essay Contests (May Deadline)
The institute works to introduce young people to Ayn Rand’s novels; supports scholarship and research based on her ideas; and promotes the principles of reason, rational self-interest, individual rights, and laissez-faire capitalism to the widest possible audience. Select one of three topics, essays will be judged on style, contend, and demonstration of philosophic meaning of Atlas Shrugged.
