AFCEA, STEM Teacher Graduate Scholarships (April Deadline)
The AFCEA Educational Foundation is offering competitive based scholarships of $2,500 each to students actively pursuing a graduate degree or credential/licensure for the purpose of teaching STEM subjects at a U.S. school in grades K-12. Applicants must currently be in their second semester and taking at least two semester-equivalent courses per term at accredited college or university in the United States. American Psychological Foundation, Kenneth B. and Mamie P. Clark Fund (June Deadline)
The Kenneth B. and Mamie P. Clark Fund supports research and demonstrative activities that promote the relationship between self-identity and academic achievement with an emphasis on children in grade levels K-8. The Kenneth B. and Mamie P. Clark fund was established in 2003 to honor the Clarks and to perpetuate their work as pioneers in understanding the psychological underpinnings of race relations and in addressing social issues such as segregation and injustice. Cathy Hopper Memorial Scholarship (May Deadline)
Criteria for this award: have resided in San Diego County for at least one year, have graduated from a public high school in San Diego County, Be current college/university students currently pursuing their teaching credential and/or student teaching at a university in California with the goal of a career as a K-12 public school teacher in California; Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; Have shown a commitment to their community through meaningful community service; Have a demonstrated financial need. International Education Research Foundation (IERF), Sepmeyer Research Grant Program (February & August Deadlines)
IERF’s mission is to research and disseminate information on world educational systems and to facilitate the integration of individuals educated outside the United States into the U.S. educational environment and workforce. Grants up to $1,000 will be awarded. Each research grant proposal is evaluated on how well its project design and expected outcomes address the following criteria: supporting research for the evaluation of foreign academic credentials, promoting the integration of students, scholars and professionals holding non-US academic credentials into the United States, facilitating the publication and dissemination of the results of the research, and encouraging the exchange of information about the structure of educational systems and their corresponding credentials. The TEACH Grant Program provides grants of up to $4,000 a year to students who are completing or plan to complete coursework needed to begin a career in teaching. As a condition for receiving a TEACH Grant, you must sign a TEACH Grant Agreement to serve in a high-need field or an elementary school or secondary school that serves low-income families for a period of four complete academic years. The PDK Educational Foundation endowed scholarship program supports students who are pursuing advanced degrees in education at the master’s, specialist, and doctoral levels.
