Claremont Graduate University and Parker Dewey

CGU is excited to announce our collaboration with Parker Dewey to provide flexible, professional, and paid student projects. Students and recent graduates from all disciplines can execute short-term, paid, typically remote, professional projects that allow them to build and demonstrate skills while completing their programs or exploring potential career paths. These Micro-Internships can take place at any time of year and are used by companies across the United States, ranging from those in the Fortune 100 to emerging start-ups.

Micro-internships are facilitated via the Parker Dewey platform, which connects students and recent graduates with organizations in need of support.

Interested? Follow These Steps

  1. Create your Parker Dewey profile by utilizing the Career Launcher Tutorial to learn how to make your profile stand out and glean tips for short-answer responses. Be sure to check the Parker Dewey platform regularly, as micro-internships tend to move quickly!
  2. Read the project descriptions carefully. Companies use Parker Dewey to accomplish various goals. While some are looking for on-demand project support, others want to expand their talent pipelines and are willing to do some coaching/teaching. The project descriptions often indicate or include clues as to the company’s goals.
  3. Keep applying. Micro-internships can be a bit of a numbers game, as was highlighted by a recent graduate who has done more than 15 projects. Students tend to have better odds of being selected for a project after applying to 5-10 Micro-Internships, so don’t get deterred if you’ve applied to a few but haven’t been selected yet.
  4. Enroll in recommended CGU Student Professionalism Certification Training by emailing: cafe@cgu.edu, review Career Readiness Resources, and use Handshake schedule to meet with Career and Professional Development counselors to tailor application materials.
