Campus Safety provides CPR/First Aid Training for all employees at CGU and there are two ways to conduct the training:

There is blended or traditional learning, and you are welcome to do whichever you prefer.

Blended learning is where the lecture portion is done online and the participants only need to complete in-person skills testing. The estimated online portion is 2 hours, however it can be much shorter if the participants have had training before and are still competent. The skills testing is approximately 1-2 hours. If you choose the blended learning, after you complete the online portion, you will be emailed a certificate. You must either forward the email to Arman Abedini from Campus Safety at armana@cuc.claremont.edu or bring a printout to the skills testing and you need to go in for the skills testing within 2 weeks of doing the online portion.

Here is a link to a video describing the simulation learning and the direct link to begin the training:

As a reminder, for those of you who are doing the blended learning please be sure to have completed the online portion before the meeting, and within 2 weeks of the meeting.  Campus Safety has 8 manikins, and the classes run more efficiently with a max of 8, but there can only be 10 people maximum per training.

For those of you who would like to do the blended learning of the First Aid/ CPR training and still need to complete the skills testing portion, the next dates for that are listed below. Each are at 2pm at the training room at Campus Safety at 150 E. 8th Street, on the west end of the building (across from the Honnold Mudd Bookstore). If you walk in the front lobby area and tell the dispatcher you are there for the CPR training, they will walk you back to the room.

Monday May 1

Monday June 5

Tuesday July 11

Tuesday August 8

Please email risk@cgu.edu  if you would like to sign up for one of these dates.

There is also traditional learning, where there is a lecture followed by skills testing. The estimated time for this format is 4-5 hours. Campus Safety needs at least 4-5 people to make this training work. If anyone wants to do the Traditional training we can schedule a date for that and it would start earlier in the day so people do not have to stay later than their normal working hours. You do not need to bring anything to this type of class, just wear comfortable clothes.

You can also email the Campus Safety Dispatch at dispatch@cuc.claremont.edu for questions regarding the trainings.
