Retreats & Activities
CAFE offers a range of engaging retreats and development activities that center on scholarly productivity, pedagogical growth, and inclusive academic culture. Our offerings are designed for CGU faculty, staff, and graduate students seeking space, support, and structure to enhance their academic work and teaching practices.
Writing Retreats
Our writing retreats offer dedicated time for focused academic writing in a supportive, structured environment. Participants use techniques like Pomodoro and goal-setting to maintain momentum and build sustainable writing practices. Sessions are held in-person and online, with opportunities to join accountability groups and share progress.
Course (Re)Design Institute
These multi-day retreats guide educators through the intentional redesign or creation of a course. Faculty and graduate instructors receive personalized feedback on syllabi, assessments, and learning outcomes through an equity-minded lens. Optional workshops focus on engagement strategies, digital tools, and inclusive practices.
Faculty Forum (Coming Soon)
Launching soon, the Faculty Forum will provide space for CGU educators to connect over timely topics such as AI in teaching, inclusive pedagogy, and faculty well-being. Sessions will include presentations, guided discussions, and opportunities for cross-departmental exchange.
This program is currently in development and will launch in an upcoming academic term.
