“I highly recommend for professors to be a part of the BLAIS Tandem Program. I got paired with a CGU graduate student who contributed greatly to how I developed a course as well as reconsider many policies in my classes. An excellent experience.”
Welcome, 5C Faculty and CGU Scholars! The Center for Academic & Faculty Excellence (CAFE) invites you to participate in the 2024 BLAIS Tandem Program.
BLAIS Tandem Program: Explore our innovative approach to embedding excellence in inclusive teaching and learning at the Claremont Colleges. Through cross-campus collaborations, the program pairs CGU scholars with 5C faculty to redesign and facilitate courses using equity-minded design and inclusive practices. Blais funding will be used to provide stipends to support participants. The Tandem program includes participation in the Summer Course Redesign Institute.
CGU Tandem scholars are CGU students who have completed the Inclusive Excellence in College Teaching Certificate, or are working towards it and have completed their first course in the program. The Tandem work with the faculty will allow them to apply their training to support the design or redesign of a course and to complete the practical part of the Excellence in College Teaching Certificate.
