Eusebio Alvaro, MPH, PhD | Associate Provost for Research | Full Research Professor
Eusebio Alvaro is the Associate Provost for Research. He has been a research faculty at CGU since 2003 and is currently a professor in Psychology and Public Health. Dr. Alvaro’s basic research addresses social influence processes with an emphasis on biased message processing, resistance to persuasion, indirect effects of persuasive messages, and mechanisms by which minorities can achieve change. His applied work has been consistently funded by numerous federal, state, and local agencies since 1998 and involves the use of communication and persuasion research to improve health promotion and disease prevention efforts.

Daisy Rusli | Director of Research Administration
Daisy Rusli serves as ORSPG’s Director of Research Administration. Before joining CGU in 2016, Daisy served as a Lead Research Administrator at the Viterbi School of Engineering, University of Southern California (USC). Prior to her tenure at USC, Daisy was employed at Stanford University Cancer Center, where she collaborated with Principal Investigators and research personnel to analyze the budgetary requirements for individual research studies, ensuring that contracts were negotiated and finalized to meet the financial objectives of these studies. Additionally, Daisy held various roles at Loma Linda Medical Center, including Grant manager and Financial Management Analyst III.

James Griffith | Certified IRB Professional
James is a Certified IRB Professional with more than 8 years of full time experience in human subjects protections. He completed his PhD in philosophy with a dissertation on the intersection of science, values, and epistemology. He also holds Masters’ degrees in Philosophy and in Evaluation and Applied Research Methods. He has abiding research interests in evaluation, epistemology, research methodology, philosophy of science, ethics, and anywhere they intersect. His publications on the intersection of values and validity and on developing reporting standards for research on evaluation reflect these interests. His current research interests include deception in research and (with AEREO) the effectiveness of human research protection programs (HRPP).

Eliana Leon | Senior Grants and Contracts Analyst
Eliana Leon serves as Senior Grants and Contracts Analyst. She joined CGU in 2006 and has held many positions including Budget Coordinator and Division Manager. She now contributes to pre-award administration by providing customer service as a pre-award liaison with Grants Accounting, Faculty Members (PI/PD), Project Managers, Budget Officers, Collaborators, and Sponsoring Agencies on proposal and research administration development.
