The overarching goal of IGNITE: CGU Student Mentorship is to support the successful transition of first-year students of historically marginalized communities by pairing them with a continuing CGU student to:
- Understand the community of CGU, its challenges, and the services and resources that are in place to support students, and
- Encourage a thriving graduate experience.
IGNITE provides mentors AND mentees with mutually beneficial relationships by offering opportunities to discuss research, professional development, and graduate life. This program supports an inclusive campus culture for students of all backgrounds.
As part of this program students will have the opportunity to attend various workshops throughout the year that will focus on the following areas:
- Campus resources, and the importance of involvement
- Creating community
- Academic expectations
- Networking and professional development
The IGNITE Mentorship application has closed for the 2022-2023 academic year.
