We invite you to join us in the first official Fireside Chat on Friday, September 25, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST via Zoom. This is an excellent opportunity to come together in the community, even though we can only convene online. Come listen to students in different academic departments speak about their experiences navigating the year in a virtual format. Get to know a panel of current CGU students who will speak to the recent adjustment to online learning and share their ideas about making the best of a challenging situation.

Panelists:

  • Eric Thomas
  • Christine D’Amico
  • Jamila Vorise
  • Tiffany Fong

Our adaptation to the online format, we have decided to implement periodic “Fireside Chats.”  Our version of Fireside Chats will attempt to provide the same level of understanding and hope during a time when our country needed strong leadership the most.  Yet, we hope to channel our version of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s famous speeches towards making a stronger connection to our student community.

This event will allow each of you to link up with the CGU community, hear from students around the globe, and engage with topics ranging from the transition to online learning to the specifics of the work being done by students across disciplines here at CGU. If you are interested in participating in the GSC Fireside Chats as a panelist in the future or have a few words of encouragement for the CGU community, please reach out to our GSC Vice-president, Arline Votruba, at vicepresident.gsc@cgu.edu.
