Current Students, Alumni, and Former Students
Students and alumni can request official letters from the Registrar’s Office verifying their education using the Official Letter Request form available on the Forms page.
Information provided in an enrollment verification may include the following: your degree program and plan, your anticipated completion or graduation date, your terms of attendance, the total units you are enrolled in and your status (full or part time) during the term. Enrollment verifications should be provided when you wish to establish your student status without disclosing the private or confidential information contained in your transcript, such as your individual courses, grades, or GPA.
Lenders, Employers, Background Screening Firms, and Other Third-party Requestors
The term “third party”refers to any entity other than the student who attended CGU. The Registrar’s Office does not provide any type of verification by phone or email. All verifications for third parties are provided in compliance with the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
CGU has contracted with the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree and enrollment verifications for a nominal fee: Enrollment and Degree Verifications. Requests may also be sent by mail to National Student Clearinghouse, 2300 Dulles Station Boulevard, Suite 300. Herndon, VA 20171.The NSC charges a nominal fee for all verifications that are successfully completed.
Third party requests for information not contained in an enrollment or degree verification for an individual through the National Student Clearinghouse will not be provided (regardless of the presence of a third party signed release). The third party must obtain this information directly from the individual, who may request an official transcript or letter be sent to the third party directly.
