The U.S. Department of State administers the Exchange Visitor Program under the provisions of the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961, as amended. The Exchange Visitor Program provides foreign nationals opportunities to participate in exchange programs in the United States with the expectation that on completion of their exchange program, they will return home to share their experiences.
Claremont Graduate University is the main site for the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program at the Claremont Colleges. To be invited to participate in the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program at the Claremont Colleges, you must be admitted to an academic program; or be requested to serve in a research, teaching or lecture position by a Claremont College academic department.
For more information on J-1 visa and entry process, please review details in the menu bar, email your international advisor, or schedule an appointment with a CGU J-1 advisor.
