Orientation

All new international students are required to attend International Student Orientation. Orientation is an event to welcome international students to the United States and CGU, and to become accustomed to the school’s campus and visa regulations. Typically, CGU schedules orientation events a week prior to start of classes. You will receive an email from the Admissions Office with more details.

SEVIS Check-In Process

All F-1 and J-1 international students coming to CGU are required to check in with a Designated School Official (DSO) when they arrive. During the check-in process, students will provide a copy of their passport and visa, contact information and most updated address. Further, DSOs will provide critical information on visa regulations during this session. Typically, check in process takes place during the International Student Orientation or by booking an individual appointment with a CGU DSO through Calendly.

Health Insurance

F-1 students are required to have a health insurance during their enrollment at CGU. For more information on coverages, fees and waivers, please visit MyCGU Health Insurance.

Housing

CGU and the Claremont Colleges offers many different options for on-campus and off-campus housing. Visit the Housing Community page for more information.

Immunizations

Prior to arriving to the U.S, international students must receive certain immunizations and vaccinations. Students must submit a CGU Medical History Report to the Student Health Services office prior to the start of the academic term. It is recommended that students complete their medical history report in their own countries prior to arriving to CGU. For more information, visit MyCGU Immunizations & Vaccinations.
