Enterprise Applications

Enterprise Applications supports the University’s applications and databases. CGU currently relies on PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2, Workday, Slate and many other applications. The Enterprise Applications staff works closely with the users from various student services departments, Marketing and Communications, as well as academic departments to ensure that reports, new programs and additional features are developed to advance CGU’s mission.

Desktop Services

Desktop Services supports faculty, staff and students with their end user technology, encompassing their university owned desktops, laptops and peripheral devices and all associated end user software. Desktops Services supports systems access, including password reset facilitation, Multifactor Authentication support, and individual enterprise applications. Additionally, Desktop Services provides consultation on technology procurement as well as just in time use of university provided or required software and applications.

Desktop Services also serves as the on campus Help Desk, providing primary in-person and phone support between 8:30am and 5pm. They liaise with the 24×7 off-campus Help Desk as needed to address user issues.

Academic Technology

The Academic Computing and Digital Learning teams develop and support ongoing University-wide academic technology initiatives, including teaching and learning, mobile computing, and emerging technologies for research and learning. The staff act as consultants to faculty about any aspect of technology use in the learning environments – classroom or online. Their expertise is also invaluable in maintaining and enhancing CGU’s digital campus while remaining in conformity with internal and external regulations, laws, and policies.

Academic Computing also consists of two student-staffed support organizations including Audio Visual (AV) and the Digital Learning Lab (DLL). AV provides primary support to the university’s on campus classrooms and event venues for classes, meetings, and special events. The DLL provides software training to students to enable them to be successful in their coursework at CGU. Staff and faculty are able to attend DLL workshops as well.

Technical Services

Technical Services provides the backbone for computing at CGU by managing and maintaining our cable plant, network infrastructure, servers and network operating systems, desktop computing systems, and wireless access points. They provide and manage e-mail, file storage and backup/recovery systems among other technical areas to support the user community.
