The use of standardized hardware and software provides a consistent support model, saving time and money. The information below is the current standardized personal computing configuration that will meet the needs of most of the faculty and staff at Claremont Graduate University. These specifications are based on ease of purchase, deployment and support.  The desktop configuration is the standard hardware purchased for all staff and faculty.  The laptop configuration is only purchased for special situations.  Apple products, such as Macbooks and iMacs, are also only purchased for special situations.

Before purchasing a computer or other technology with CGU funds, please review the CGU Technology Purchasing Policy and contact helpdesk@cgu.edu for guidance and assistance.

As new models emerge, these standards will be updated accordingly. Last updated for Spring 2019.
